Strategy Inc has expanded its Bitcoin treasury with a new $1 billion acquisition, pushing its total holdings to approximately 781,000 BTC. The firm acquired 13,927 BTC between April 6 and April 12, according to a recent company update.
The company purchased the latest batch of coins at an average price of $71,902 per BTC. This brings the total cumulative investment in the digital asset to roughly $59.02 billion, with an average cost basis of $75,577 per coin.
Capital markets fund Bitcoin accumulation
Strategy Inc funded the recent acquisition through its at-the-market (ATM) equity program. SEC filings show the company sold over 10 million STRC preferred shares to generate the $1 billion in net proceeds used for the purchase.
Michael Saylor's firm reported a Bitcoin yield of 5.6% year-to-date for 2026. The firm uses this internal performance metric to track gains generated relative to its total Bitcoin holdings.
The company maintains significant capacity for further expansion. Strategy Inc retains tens of billions of dollars in remaining issuance potential through various securities offerings, including STRC and MSTR stock programs.
In March, the company announced expanded offerings, including $21 billion increases for both the STRC and MSTR stock programs. These mechanisms provide the capital necessary to continue large-scale Bitcoin acquisitions.
