'Pokémon Champions' officially launched on the Nintendo Switch yesterday, but players were quick to report a slew of bugs and the absence of several features that had been showcased in pre-release trailers.

In response to the growing frustration, The Pokémon Company released an official statement. As translated by the Pokémon news site Serebii, the development team has acknowledged the various technical issues and plans to roll out fixes in the near future.

Patch Progress and Known Issues

The official list of bugs slated for repair includes: incorrect move descriptions for Leech Seed, abnormal trigger sequences during double Mega Evolution animations, gender determination errors in tutorials and recruitment, the Lightning Rod ability failing under specific conditions, and a glitch where the game prevents players from attacking if the cursor remains on the Mega Evolution option.

Additionally, the 'Pokémon Home' transfer issues that had been plaguing players have now been resolved. Previously, this bug had caused some players' Pokémon to become trapped in an unrecoverable 'ghost state' during the transfer process.

To deploy the upcoming patches, game servers will be taken offline tonight at 6:00 PM ET for an estimated two-hour maintenance window.

The statement concluded by noting that the company will continue to investigate reports beyond the currently identified bugs. However, players remain highly critical of the missing content promised in promotional trailers, with the absence of Mega Raichu X drawing particular ire. At this time, the development team has not provided an explanation for the removed content, offering only a commitment to ongoing maintenance and repairs.
