OpenAI is doubling down on ChatGPT’s productivity ecosystem with a new integration feature that allows users to connect and interact with third-party apps without ever leaving the conversation. This update eliminates the need to toggle between multiple windows, streamlining tasks like creating playlists, booking rides, or scheduling home services.

Currently, ChatGPT supports a wide range of popular services, including Spotify, DoorDash, Uber, Canva, Figma, Expedia, and Booking.com. For instance, users can simply type a natural language prompt to have ChatGPT generate a personalized music playlist, which then syncs automatically to their Spotify account.

How to Enable and Manage Integrations

There are two ways to get started. First, you can simply type the name of the service directly into the chat, and ChatGPT will guide you through the authorization process. Alternatively, you can navigate to the "Settings" menu and browse available services under the "Apps and Connectors" tab.

OpenAI reminds users that connecting an account means sharing certain data with ChatGPT. For example, linking Spotify allows the system to access your listening history and saved tracks. Users can disconnect any linked app at any time via the settings menu to ensure their privacy.

Recently, home services platform Angi also joined the ecosystem. Users can now ask ChatGPT for home repair advice, get price quotes, and be matched with professionals, with the process seamlessly continuing through Angi’s built-in AI assistant. Meanwhile, the Booking.com integration focuses on travel planning, offering personalized accommodation recommendations for travelers visiting new destinations.

As this ecosystem grows, OpenAI is clearly positioning ChatGPT to evolve from a simple chatbot into a central hub for internet services. For developers and businesses, this opens a new channel to reach users, while for the average person, it significantly cuts down on the friction of managing tasks across multiple platforms.
