iPhone users are reporting a recurring issue where the Headspace meditation app installs itself on their devices without user intervention.

According to a report on ycombinator.com published on April 26, 2026, the installation has been occurring daily around 1:00 p.m. EST.

A user posting on the Hacker News forum noted that the phenomenon had persisted for three consecutive days on their iPhone 13 Pro.

"Automatic downloads are non-existent and I've updated to the latest iOS since this started happening," the user stated, noting that automatic downloads were specifically turned off.

Reports across multiple device models

The issue does not appear to be limited to a single hardware model. The same user identified Reddit threads containing similar reports from owners of iPhone 12 and iPhone 17 models.

This suggests the behavior is not device-specific, according to the ycombinator.com report.

The original poster concluded their report by seeking community insight, asking, "Does anyone else seeing this? Does anyone understand how or why this is happening?"
