Tesla is rolling out a new self-driving application designed to simplify Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscriptions and track driver usage through new performance statistics.

The company recently teased the redesigned app and a suite of new features via a post on X. The update introduces a gamified element to the driver assistance software, featuring multi-day usage streaks to track how often drivers engage the system.

Driving FSD adoption

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system functions as an advanced driver assistance tool capable of managing steering, lane changes, and parking. While the software handles complex maneuvers, it still requires active driver supervision and does not provide true autonomy.

The new app interface aims to reduce friction for the $99 monthly subscription. Currently, Tesla owners must navigate several steps through the vehicle's touchscreen or mobile app to reach the subscription settings.

This push for higher engagement aligns with Tesla's broader corporate objectives. CEO Elon Musk has positioned the company as an AI and robotics powerhouse, a transition that relies heavily on the success of FSD.

Reaching 10 million active FSD subscriptions by 2035 serves as a critical milestone for the company. This specific product goal is tied to the fulfillment of Musk's $1 trillion compensation package.
