Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) reported its strongest earnings since 2018 this week, with the infrastructure giant posting record quarterly revenue of $10.7 billion. According to www.theregister.com, the results represent a 40 percent increase year-over-year, bolstered by $2.7 billion in networking revenue and $1.8 billion in AI systems orders.

CEO Antonio Neri utilized the earnings call to defend the company’s $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, a deal that previously faced significant investor skepticism. "The Juniper acquisition in my mind has been a home run," Neri told analysts. "We believe the strategy is working."

Financial data suggests the deal is gaining traction, with networking orders currently outpacing total revenue growth. Neri argued that the integration is timely, as enterprises prioritize the underlying networking infrastructure required to support data movement between servers, storage, and AI accelerators.

AI-driven infrastructure demand

Beyond networking, HPE reports that demand for traditional enterprise infrastructure is broadening as businesses deploy agentic AI and inferencing workloads. The company is also integrating AI into its own operational processes. Neri revealed that HPE has developed roughly 1,200 internal AI use cases, with CFO Marie Myers having already implemented more than 50, primarily focused on agentic systems.

Internal AI tools are also assisting with supply chain management, helping the company navigate constraints on memory and networking components. Neri dismissed concerns that current hardware demand is a temporary spike, noting that the company has not observed any sudden drop-off in customer interest as organizations race to build out AI capabilities.

"The self-driving network is no longer a concept. It is a reality," Neri said, citing successful deployments at the UK Ministry of Justice. The agency reportedly reduced network operations center incidents by approximately 75 percent using HPE’s self-driving networking technology.

HPE’s recent performance has led the firm to accelerate its long-term financial targets. The company now expects to surpass its fiscal 2028 goals by the conclusion of fiscal 2026. Neri emphasized that the current growth trajectory is sustainable, stating, "We are building durable momentum for the future."
