Amflow, the e-bike brand incubated by DJI, has officially announced the launch of two new electric mountain bike (e-MTB) series: the Amflow PX and the Amflow PR. Both models are powered by the proprietary Avinox drive system, designed to overcome the traditional performance trade-offs between power, range, and weight.

A New Benchmark for Power and Performance

The flagship Amflow PX weighs in at just around 20kg, while the Amflow PR, which targets a slightly different segment, weighs approximately 22kg. According to official specifications, the bikes are equipped with the Avinox M2S and M2 drive systems, respectively. This system delivers an impressive peak power of 1,500W and a staggering 150Nm of torque. Amflow notes that this power output is so high that improper handling could potentially lead to chain breakage or gear wear.

To accommodate various riding terrains, Amflow utilizes a carbon fiber frame that offers 40 different geometry configurations. This design allows riders to deeply customize the bike to suit their personal riding style and specific trail conditions.

Regarding range and charging, the Amflow PR features a removable 800Wh battery, allowing for easy swaps during long rides. Using the fast-charging mode, the battery can reach an 80% charge in approximately 1.5 hours. Additionally, users have the option to mount an extra 600Wh battery to the frame for a dual-battery setup.

Amflow has also prioritized smart features. The bikes integrate a 2-inch OLED touchscreen that provides real-time navigation. The PR model further supports Apple Find My, making it easy for users to track their bike's location.

Notably, the system introduces heart-rate-controlled assistance. Riders can pair a heart rate monitor with the bike, and the motor will automatically adjust the level of assistance based on the rider's heart rate data, ensuring they remain within a preset target zone.

Currently, the high-end Amflow PX Carbon is available in European and Australian markets, with the standard version priced at $7,999 and the Pro version at $10,199. The Amflow PR Carbon is expected to launch later this year, with a starting price of $4,999. Industry observers are closely watching to see if Amflow will eventually license the Avinox drive system to third-party bicycle manufacturers.
