Venture capital firm Collide Capital announced on Thursday that it has officially closed its second fund (Fund II), bringing its total capital raised to $95 million. Founded in 2021, the firm previously raised $66 million for its debut fund in 2022 and has since invested in 75 startups.

Co-founder Brian Hollins noted that the fundraising process took approximately 13 months. The fund is expected to be deployed over the next three and a half years, with plans to back at least 30 startups. The team has already completed five investments.

Focusing on Vertical Markets and Talent Development

Collide Capital’s portfolio spans the fintech, supply chain, and future-of-work sectors. Hollins pointed out that the firm is currently most interested in platforms that drive automation, real-time collaboration, and more efficient, data-driven decision-making.

Despite the challenging fundraising environment for emerging fund managers, the team secured support from institutional investors thanks to their deep industry expertise. Collide Capital’s second fund attracted prominent limited partners (LPs) including the University of California Regents, Accolade Partners, Fairview Capital, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan.

Beyond its core investment business, Collide Capital is expanding its "Collide Campus" initiative. Launched in 2022, the program aims to provide mentorship to the next generation of founders and venture capitalists. The undergraduate program now spans over 20 universities, including Harvard and Johns Hopkins. More than 50 students have used the program as a springboard to secure roles at top-tier firms like General Catalyst.

Co-founder Aaron Samuels stated, "We are connecting the best and brightest talent with venture capital to match their resilience and determination to build the businesses the world needs." The program not only helps students break into the VC industry but also provides Collide Capital with a pipeline for identifying high-quality early-stage deals and emerging talent.
