Xbox Game Pass subscription service

Microsoft is expanding the Xbox Game Pass library with major back-catalog titles including CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The additions follow a heavy release cycle in 2025 that brought major titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to the service.

While the early 2026 release schedule has slowed, the influx of high-profile older titles maintains the service's value proposition. This comes despite recent price increases and a complex restructuring of subscription tiers that has complicated the platform's cost-benefit analysis for users.

Standout titles in the current lineup

Supergiant Games' Hades 2 has emerged as a cornerstone of the current rotation. The sequel, which follows Melinoë on a mission to defeat the Titan of Time, currently holds high critical standing on Metacritic.

Reviewers note that the title maintains the polished, tactical loop of its predecessor while expanding the game's narrative depth. The game is available on Game Pass Premium and Ultimate for Windows PC and Xbox Series X.

Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also remains a significant draw for RPG enthusiasts. The medieval realism title, which focuses on the journey of a peasant named Henry of Skalitz, continues to attract players seeking immersive, unglamorous combat.

Indie titles are also providing significant variety within the service's current tiers. SoulGame Studio's Minishoot' Adventures blends twin-stick shooter mechanics with 2D adventure elements, while Sunset Visitor’s 1000xResist offers a narrative-driven sci-fi experience centered on themes of cloning and memory.

These additions ensure the service maintains a broad genre spread, ranging from bullet-hell boss fights to visual novel-style storytelling. The current library includes titles accessible across all premium and ultimate tiers for both PC and console players.
