THQ Nordic has confirmed release dates for the Gothic Classic trilogy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The announcement, first reported by gematsu.com, provides a rollout schedule for the three legendary RPG titles.
The first entry, Gothic Classic, launches on July 28. Players who pre-order the upcoming Gothic Remake can claim Gothic Classic as a free bonus at no additional cost, according to the developer.
Following the initial release, Gothic II Complete Classic is scheduled for September 2 and Gothic III Classic will arrive on November 24. All three titles will retail for $29.99 / €29.99 per game.
Expanded availability for the series
While the new console versions are on the horizon, the trilogy already maintains a presence on other platforms. Gothic Classic and Gothic II Complete Classic are currently available for Nintendo Switch, and THQ Nordic plans to bring Gothic Classic to iOS in the future.
The Gothic series is known for its deep, immersive role-playing mechanics. The original Gothic Classic features a simulated living world where characters follow daily routines, including working, eating, and sleeping.
The upcoming Gothic II Complete Classic brings the 'Night of the Raven' expansion to consoles for the first time. This version includes over 100 missions and more than 500 unique NPCs with individual dialogues.
The final installment, Gothic III Classic, offers a massive free-roaming world in the war-torn land of Myrtana. The game features a class-free character development system and advanced AI for hundreds of individual characters.
