Publisher SNEG has launched the 'Warhammer Classics' label on Steam, restoring more than 20 cult-favorite PC titles to the digital storefront. The initiative involves a partnership between SNEG, Games Workshop, and various developers to reintroduce legacy Warhammer titles to modern PC players.

The collection features seven games making their Steam debut and 12 returning titles. These updates aim to bridge the gap between nostalgic gameplay and modern hardware requirements.

“Warhammer has been a cornerstone of PC gaming since the 1990s, spanning genres from real-time strategy and turn-based tactics to fantasy sports, digital board games, and first-person shooters,” SNEG stated in a release.

Modern compatibility for retro titles

SNEG confirmed that each debut and returning title has undergone updates for modern system compatibility. These patches are designed to ensure smooth performance on current hardware while preserving the original gameplay experience.

New arrivals to the Steam platform include Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, and Warhammer: Dark Omen. The launch also brings Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition to the storefront for the first time.

Returning titles include several heavy hitters from the franchise's history, such as Space Hulk, Space Hulk: Ascension, and Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon. The collection also features various entries from the Talisman and Warhammer Quest series.

Other notable additions to the Steam library include Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition and the anniversary editions of Dawn of War and Dawn of War 2. The full collection spans multiple genres, including tactical combat, naval battles, and digital board games.
