Krysten Ritter has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jessica Jones in the sixth episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. The episode, titled 'Requiem,' features the character's first appearance in seven years.

According to polygon.com, the episode opens in a suburban home where Jones defends her daughter from Mayor Wilson Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF). During the confrontation, Jones single-handedly defeats agents in riot gear after a grenade is thrown into the house.

Jones also appears to be raising a daughter, Danielle Cage, the child of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The outlet reported that the character's presence suggests a period of seclusion from the superhero life in New York City.

A shift in the street-level landscape

While the episode does not feature Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Jones reveals that Cage is currently 'working for some shady people.' This suggests a departure from his previous role running the Harlem's Paradise nightclub.

Jones also informed Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, that her superpowers have been 'on the fritz.' Despite this, she remains capable of combat, joining Daredevil in a warehouse fight to destroy military-grade weapons stashed by the Mayor.

Polygon.com notes that while Jones expressed a desire to stay out of the brewing conflict in New York, her return to action remains a possibility. The character's return follows her 2019 departure from the Marvel Netflix lineup after the conclusion of her solo series.
