Gunzilla, the studio behind the NFT-integrated shooter 'Off the Grid', is embroiled in a growing wage theft scandal. Several current and former staff members have publicly alleged that the company has failed to pay salaries for months, with management reportedly dodging inquiries regarding the missing funds.

Former Head of Talent Acquisition Anna Savina took to LinkedIn on April 7 to reveal that, despite three years of service, she is still owed several months of back pay. Savina stated that her repeated attempts to contact company leadership have been met with silence. She emphasized that her situation is far from unique, noting that many talented colleagues are facing the same struggle: "We aren't asking for bonuses; we are simply asking for the money we earned."

Employees Accuse Management of Deceit

Former Senior VFX Animator Paul Creamer detailed his experience on LinkedIn, explaining that he continued working for several months in late 2025 based on assurances from management. According to Creamer, CEO Vlad Korolev had promised departments that the payment delays were merely "growing pains" and insisted that the company was in a healthy financial position.

These promises ultimately proved hollow. Beyond Savina and Creamer, other employees have voiced their frustrations on social media. Animator Rayan Tiraghan claims he is owed three months of pay, while current QA developer Vladyslav Makarevych says he has not received a paycheck since September 2024. Makarevych further alleged that the company recently changed its registration details and revoked employee access to corporate email accounts and the project management platform Jira.

Senior Concept Artist Andrew Snitsar added in the comments that he is owed five months of salary. He expressed deep regret for having viewed the company as a "family," noting that this sense of loyalty led him to trust management's empty promises.

Gunzilla has yet to issue a public response to these allegations. The company launched an early access version of 'Off the Grid'—which features a blockchain-based NFT marketplace—in October 2024. Additionally, Gunzilla acquired the gaming publication 'Game Informer' in March 2025, claiming at the time that the outlet would maintain editorial independence.
