Fangamer officially announced on Wednesday that physical editions of the sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong are slated for release on October 16. The physical copies will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Switch 2, marking a significant expansion for the title’s retail presence.
Pricing for the Silksong physical release varies by platform. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions are priced at $39, while the Switch 2 edition carries a higher retail price of $45. Pre-orders for these editions are currently open to the public.
Each physical package for Silksong includes the game disc or cartridge, a reversible cover sheet, a 32-page game manual, and a mini folded poster. According to Gematsu, the upcoming "Sea of Sorrow" expansion is not included on the physical media and will instead be provided as a free digital download upon its future release.
In addition to the sequel, Fangamer has opened pre-orders for physical editions of the original Hollow Knight for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. These versions are priced at $35 for the PlayStation 5 and $39 for the Switch 2. These packages include a reversible cover sheet, a 28-page game manual, and a mini folded poster.
While physical editions of the original Hollow Knight were previously released for the PlayStation 4 and the standard Nintendo Switch, this launch marks the first time these specific next-generation consoles will receive physical copies. The original title remains available digitally across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms including Steam and GOG.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently available for digital purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, GOG, the Humble Store, and the Microsoft Store. The digital version of the game is also currently accessible to subscribers via Game Pass.
