Disney has removed 15 more video games from Valve's Steam platform without prior warning or explanation, according to reports from Polygon and Reddit's r/Games.
This latest wave of delistings follows a similar event in January, when 14 games vanished from the storefront. Combined, these two removal events bring the total to 29 games taken down in just a few months.
The removed titles include several classic Star Wars titles, such as Star Wars: Dark Forces and Star Wars: Rebellion. Other notable removals include Bolt, High School Musical 3, Tangled, and Disney's Alice in Wonderland.
While users who already own the games can usually still download and play them, new players lose access completely. This is especially disappointing for fans of older or nostalgic titles that may not be available anywhere else, r/Games reported.
Licensing and future plans
Industry analysts suggest the removals likely stem from licensing limitations, a common issue where platforms must pull old games due to expiring agreements for music or intellectual property. Some titles, such as Star Wars: Dark Forces and Outlaws, may have been removed because they were recently remastered.
Despite the deletions, Disney does not appear to be exiting the PC market entirely. Popular titles like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Epic Mickey 2 remain available for purchase.
Disney may actually be expanding its gaming footprint. The company holds a $1.5 billion stake in publisher Epic Games and is reportedly developing an extraction shooter similar to Arc Raiders. Polygon reported that while early reports suggest the new shooter isn't particularly original, Disney is targeting a November release date.
