The director of the sandbox vampire RPG The Blood of $Dawnwalker is embracing comparisons to The Witcher 3, a title he also directed.
Speaking to PC Gamer, the developer expressed confidence in the new project's ability to stand on its own merits. He noted that he does not mind the high bar set by his previous work.
"I feel really confident about our game," the director stated, according to a report from PC Gamer.
A new sandbox experience
The upcoming title focuses on a sandbox approach to vampire gameplay, allowing for player agency within a dark fantasy setting. While the connection to The Witcher 3 provides a notable pedigree, the developer aims to deliver a distinct experience.
PC Gamer reported that the director remains unfazed by the shadow of his former success. The developer intends to leverage the lessons learned from large-scale RPG development to refine the mechanics of Dawnwalker.
