Blizzard Entertainment will launch the second season of Overwatch, titled Summit, on April 14. The update introduces Sierra, a new Damage hero, alongside a suite of map reworks and character skins.
Sierra arrives with abilities designed for spatial control. "Built for controlling spaces, high and low," Blizzard stated in the season's first trailer.
Players can unlock the Painter Sierra skin via the season 2 Ultimate Battle Pass. Other heroes receiving Spring Fairy skins include Illari, Ashe, Echo, and Tracer.
Diablo crossover and gameplay updates
The season features a high-profile crossover with Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. Ramattra will receive a new skin inspired by the expansion's antagonist, Mephisto.
This addition follows previous Diablo-themed skins for characters like Moira and Reinhardt. The update marks a significant win for Ramattra fans, as the Tank hero is often cited as being overlooked in Blizzard's cosmetic releases.
Gameplay changes include the return of post-match accolades. Blizzard is also introducing post-match voice chat for both teams, allowing players to communicate after matches conclude.
Map updates feature a rework of Antarctic Peninsula and the addition of Lijiang Night Market to Stadium mode. Ramattra will join the Stadium mode roster, while Jetpack Cat is scheduled for a mid-season arrival.
Genji and Soldier: 76 will receive new Mythic skins, with Genji getting the Sumi-Ichimonji weapon skin. The in-game shop will also feature the return of Le Sserafim skins from April 14-27.
Blizzard plans to host unspecified in-game events on May 24 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Overwatch. A native Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is also slated to launch alongside the season 2 update.
