Montreal-based developer Behaviour Interactive has announced a new round of layoffs, targeting staff working on external development projects.

According to a report from PC Gamer, the studio is cutting positions as the demand for mobile and casual external development has declined.

This latest reduction follows previous workforce cuts at the company, which is best known for developing Dead by Daylight. The studio's shift in focus reflects broader trends within the mobile gaming market.

Shift in development focus

The company noted that its external development division has been hit particularly hard by the changing market landscape. The decline in interest for casual and mobile titles has made certain project pipelines less viable.

In a statement regarding the restructuring, the company explained that "demand for mobile and casual external development projects has declined."

While the studio continues to support its core intellectual properties, the scale of its external services arm is being adjusted to match current industry needs. The layoffs are part of a broader effort to realign the company's resources with its primary development goals.
