Cybersecurity breach of GeForce Now servers in Armenia

A hacking group previously involved in the ransomware attack against Rockstar Games claims to have breached user data from NVIDIA's GeForce Now servers in Armenia, according to a report by PC Gamer.

The group, which gained notoriety for attempting to ransom the developer over Grand Theft Auto 6, alleges that sensitive information belonging to users has been compromised.

While the group has claimed responsibility for the intrusion, the extent of the data leak and the specific types of user information accessed have not yet been independently verified.

Previous Rockstar Games attack

The perpetrators of this latest breach are the same actors who targeted Rockstar Games in a high-profile incident. That previous attack involved threats to release proprietary information related to the highly anticipated GTA 6.

This new claim targets the cloud gaming infrastructure used by NVIDIA. The breach specifically focuses on the servers located in Armenia, according to the report from PC Gamer.

NVIDIA has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the alleged breach of its GeForce Now service. Security researchers are currently monitoring the situation for evidence of data exfiltration.

The pattern of targeting major gaming-related infrastructure suggests a continued focus by this group on high-value entertainment assets and their supporting cloud technologies.
