Visa, Stripe, and Zodia Custody by Standard Chartered have become validators on the Tempo payments blockchain, according to reports from The Block and CoinDesk. The move follows the recent mainnet launch of Tempo, which features an agentic payments protocol.
Visa is operating as an 'anchor validator' on the network. The card network confirmed it configured and managed the validator node entirely in-hoc, following six months of joint work with Tempo’s engineering team.
Expanding the validator set
Alongside Visa, the validator set includes the payment processor Stripe and Zodia Custody, the digital asset arm of Standard Chartered. These firms represent the first notable early additions to the network as Tempo begins building its infrastructure.
The Tempo blockchain recently transitioned to its mainnet phase. The network's architecture utilizes an agentic payments protocol designed to facilitate automated transactions.
