ServiceNow overhauls product packaging to embed AI across all service tiers

ServiceNow is embedding artificial intelligence into every product package offered to its global market, according to company leadership.

Senior Vice President John Aisien announced the shift during a recent discussion, noting that the company has reorganized its entire pricing structure around three distinct levels of AI capability.

This new model allows customers to select packages based on their specific stage of AI adoption. The tiers range from 'Assistive AI' for data summarization to 'Full Role Automation,' where AI workflows operate autonomously with minimal human intervention.

"Whether the organization is ready for assistive AI, AI automation, or full-blown role automation using autonomous AI, we've introduced a new packaging model," Aisien said.

Expanding the developer ecosystem

To support this rollout, ServiceNow is launching the Build Agent SDK, a tool intended to allow developers to build and modify applications using their preferred coding environments.

By integrating with existing tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Codex, the company aims to attract developers who currently work outside the ServiceNow ecosystem. Aisien cited a life sciences firm with 7,000 developers who do not currently use ServiceNow Studio as a primary use case for this expansion.

"We want the maximum number of developers in the world... to have the ability to build ServiceNow workloads super quickly," Aisien said.

The company is also deploying a new 'Context Engine' to drive personalization within enterprise workflows.

Modeled after the recommendation algorithms used by consumer platforms like Netflix, the engine tracks user interactions such as clicks and hovers to tailor the software experience. Aisien described the engine as a critical component for scaling autonomous AI in the enterprise sector.

"AI is now forcing this construct to become real," Aisien noted, adding that the engine provides the necessary data for AI to make autonomous decisions.
