OpenAI has officially announced the launch of its 'Full Fan Mode' competition, set to run throughout the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The initiative, exclusive to residents of India, aims to leverage artificial intelligence to elevate the fan experience.
To participate, users must access the 'Full Fan Mode' feature within the ChatGPT platform, select their favorite IPL team, and upload a personal photo to generate a custom fan avatar. Once the image is created, participants are required to post it as an Instagram Story, accompanied by an original slogan and a tag to the official account, @chatgptindia.
Rules and Eligibility
According to the official terms released by OpenAI, entrants must be at least 18 years old, residents of India (excluding Jammu and Kashmir), and maintain a public Instagram account. OpenAI has emphasized that all entries must be generated specifically through 'Full Fan Mode.' The use of third-party photos, deepfake technology, or impersonation is strictly prohibited, and any violations will result in immediate disqualification.
This competition is not sponsored by Instagram, the IPL, or the BCCI. OpenAI will appoint an internal panel of judges to evaluate submissions based on creativity and relevance, with their decisions being final. The company notes that participants must ensure their submissions do not infringe upon any third-party rights and must agree to grant OpenAI the intellectual property rights to their entries for commercial use.
For winners, OpenAI reserves the right to showcase their work and names on its official Instagram page. Furthermore, winners must consent to OpenAI using their likeness and entries for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
OpenAI has clarified that no purchase is necessary to enter the competition. Specific entry windows will be announced in real-time via the @chatgptindia Instagram feed, and any submissions received outside of these designated periods will not be considered.
